Happy Wedding Wednesday!! I hope you all enjoyed last weeks post and didn’t overwhelm ya’ll with the details. I am going to follow that same flow, so here we go! I will start off with the vibe we were going for: timeless, glam, luxe, personal and clean!
Cake: We had several consultations with bakers to 1) find a bakery in our budget 2) completely LOVE our cake, I love sweets so it had to be good! 3) make sure the bakery could execute the design in my head. I had found this cake on pinterest years ago, and it was this stunning monogram as the highlight of the cake. I love monograms so much and having OUR monogram as part of our night truly felt special as we were now becoming 1. So anyways I had this photo for so long and at every consultation that is what I was showing them. I didn’t want them to copy it exactly but still the main element of the monogram, so lastly our vendor, Supreme Kakes, pulled it off and created exactly what I envisioned. Next, our cake cutting set, my mother actually gave me that and I love it so much! Here is a link for it. My husband knew from day 1 that his grooms cake had to be his favorite soccer team so this was so easy!
Centerpieces: The fun part!! Ahh the fun part!! So when I hired our coordinator/decor team, I already knew what I wanted, and I really just wanted someone to help execute it and make the vision come to life. We had our design consultation about 1 year before the wedding, and it was funny because she told me, typically we don’t do it this far out because your style/ideas might change, but you have been pretty consistent with your style so you will be fine. This was a HUGE relief because I didn’t want to stress details towards the end. WRONG. As the wedding got closer, this was the time to actually make decisions that I couldn’t go back on. I noticed my style slowly evolving but still staying very consistent, the closer the wedding was, the more I was paying attention to details, and ya’ll it was so hard running the full-time bride and seeing ALL these beautiful ideas and not be like “ooh I think I want a pink wedding now” lol. Back to the centerpieces, one thing that didn’t change was that I knew I wanted to have a mix of centerpieces. With so many ideas, how are you supposed to just have 1?! Since I stayed within the same flowers and colors of flowers it was so easy to just rearrange one table to have short centerpieces while another had tall ones. Then for my main tables, this was a fun one! The venue itself felt like an open canvas just like the ceremony so we played around with seating charts and I loved how the look of rectangular tables! So we incorporated 2 long ones on each side to create the dance floor and completely change the layout of how weddings are usually held at the venue. With the long tables, we decided no flowers but instead we had beautiful acrylic and glass candelabras with candles all the way down the tables. A last minute addition was the mirror tabletop, Shari from Events De Luxe has these as part of her inventory and there was no way I could pass them up. They truly gave these tables that even more glam look. Our caterer also surprised me by upgrading our flatware to the all gold finish, the contrast of the mirror and gold was everything I dreamed of!
Table Numbers: This was one of the details that I decided to DIY just because I could not make up my mind on what to do for these. I decided that mirrors it was and I loved how they came out!! I ordered the acrylic easels from amazon and then made the decal for the mirrors.
Sweetheart Table: I knew for sure that I wanted us to have a SH table and I am so happy we did this! We had a chance to just let it be us for even 5 minutes and it was amazing! I was so excited to decorate this! I REALLY wanted a flower wall, lol. So the decorations really did surround this wall! We reused our arrangements from the ceremony and they were placed on each side of our seats and then a beautiful all white flower arrangement as the center of our table. Our linen for our table was an all white sequin linen and I was so in love with it! Last addition were the Mr. and Mrs. Signs on the wall.
Seating Chart: This one makes me want to laugh and cry all in one lol. Another item that I decided on last minute because I couldn’t decide what to do!! I didn’t want to get anything printed because I thought, well thats no fun. LOL. So I wanted the mirror seating chart! I had a bright idea of making it myself so that I can keep the mirror afterwards because it was so pretty. So husband and I spent a week making it and it was awful. NEVER AGAIN. lol but hey we bonded that week like never before!
DJ Booth: The DJ company we hired was seriously so good!!! The DJ himself was amazing, everyone danced the whole night. We did our lighting through them as well and we even had a chance to customize our DJ booth! How amazing is that!? This was actually one of the pieces that helped tie in all of our mirror pieces and make it feel so cohesive. I also loved that our monogram was on display!
Shelves/Favors: We ordered these custom frosted cups for our friends and family to take home and use at the wedding if they wished! We thought about reusing the shelves from the ceremony into the reception area to display the cups and some of our engagement photos as well.
