Bridal Wars Recap

Hey! Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s day surrounded by love. So in last week’s blog post I mentioned Bridal Wars and I am so excited to share my experience with you all this week! When the Bridal Wars team reached out to me I was 1) SUPER EXCITED and 2) Ready with my game face on, and by game face I mean face full of glitter ;-), I will get to that here in a bit. So anyways they invited my “sparkle squad” and myself out to experience what all Bridal Wars was about. Now you are probably asking, “well what is bridal wars?”, I am going to do my review Questions and Answers style:

What is Bridal Wars?

The way I can best describe it, an interactive way to meet with wedding vendors while also have a fun excuse to wear the cutest/silliest/creative costumes with your closest girlfriends. The way it was setup in our city, was it was located at a wedding venue so that in itself was a bonus because I got to visit an additional venue that I had not seen while venue searching so now I can suggest that venue to other friends.

What do you do at Bridal Wars?

There were several local wedding vendors at the venue, and each “vendor station” had a challenge to complete. You go from one station to another and every bride and her group could go in any order as long as you eventually completed each challenge. I actually enjoyed this approach just because there must’ve been at least 200 people and I could have not imagined going through each challenge against 50 brides. Instead let’s say myself and 3 other brides approached a station at the same time, depending on the challenge we would then just compete against each other. In other cases if the challenge was time based, then we would wait in line until it was our turn.

What are the challenges like?

The challenges were so much fun and they had something for everyone! For instance there was a wedding dress boutique as a vendor, and at their station we had 5 minutes to compete with 3 other brides, for each group to design a toilet paper wedding dress. Then the station owner would write down the “winner” and then give us point that get tallied all the way at the end. Other challenges included a “bouquet toss”, see how many tosses your bridesmaids can catch within 1 minute. This was a fun one, as one of my bridesmaid is tall and it was no big deal for her to catch it super fast haha! Another one of our favorite challenges was the lip sync, this was so much fun!! Every bride tribe got a chance if they wanted to earn points to sing it out in front of everyone. I am terribly shy and would have otherwise not done it, but I was in it to win it, so my bridesmaids and I sang to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, how fitting 🙂

Can you dress up?

Of course! If you can’t already tell by visiting my blog, I love pink! So when we were deciding on shirts, pink and gold glitter it was, we then decided to make our theme basically glitter! We had so much fun getting up early in the morning, wearing an outrageous amount of pink glitter eyeshadow, iridescent glitter as our highlight, blingy headbands, obnoxious fake rings, and super cute matching shirts. It was so much fun seeing all the other themes such as harry potter, “bride and boujee”, police, cowgirls, and christmas elf’s. I will insert some pictures at the end of the blog post!

What are the prizes?

Bridal wars has a whole page on possible prizes, but prizes were given out to the winner of each challenge, overall theme (definitely recommend dressing up in something fun), team name, and of course there was one last challenge where all the brides gathered for bouquet toss to win a tote filled with prizes. I did not win so I can’t speak to the prizes in there but I did win one of the challenges so I got a beautiful lipsense color to try!

Who can attend the event?

All that is required is a bride of course, and at least 2 other team members. I had 3 of my bridesmaids that were able to attend with short notice, and I am so very thankful they were able to experience this event with me!

Where and when is the next one?

Fun fact, the bridal wars team travels to different states and cities around the country so I am sure there is bound to be one near you! Here is the link so you can check out the location and dates they will be there!

Hope you guys enjoyed this recap and definitely consider attending one near you as part of your wedding festivities! Take a look at some of the pictures I took of my sparkle squad and I! I will also post the link to the Bridal Wars site for more information. Til’ next time!
